I can not believe that our Zoë is a year old! In some ways she acts older and in others I am reminded that she is still very much a puppy. From what I have heard, larger dog breeds take more time to reach full maturity so, we should still have some puppy time left.
Zoë is such a sweet dog. She loves people and always wants to be the center of attention. Training is going well. She pretty much came to us house trained (so thankful) but we have had to work on chewing and digging. She has been on several hunting trips now and is doing better and better. We still haven't gotten her to get into water but we are hopeful that she will get over that fear eventually - or at least that Blake won't shoot anything that then lands in the water.
I was reading over her breed description today and as with Vega, it is so accurate. I would recommend to anyone looking for a dog breed to read the breeds personality and temperament descriptions and take them seriously. Here is what AKC has to say about Vizslas, "A natural hunter endowed with a good nose and above-average ability to take training. Lively, gentle-mannered, demonstrably affectionate and sensitive though fearless with a well developed protective instinct."
Happy birthday "Velcro"!!!!
