The Twilight Saga

This has been an "interesting" week, and by interesting I mean frustrating and patience testing. I had a work conference in Bethesda, MD this week. So, on Tuesday morning I woke up at 3am to make a 6:30 flight out of DFW. After a dangerous and frightening drive to the airport (thanks to the rain) I was checked in by 5am. Our group, I traveled with four individuals from work, boarded the plane and were promptly kicked off. The flight had been canceled due to "mechanical problems" - aka there were not enough passengers. The next flight out (that we could all five get seats on) didn't depart until 9:30. Correction, was supposed to depart at 9:30. In fact we did not depart until 10:45. Finally, we were in the air and on the way to our conference (which we were now going to be very late to). However, the fun didn't stop there! We arrived at Regan International - my bag did not! So after wearing the same outfit for 33 hours and two days of my conference, my bag finally arrived mid-Wednesday morning. Fun times!
On a happier note. Most of you know that I am, to say the least a Harry Potter fan. This week I ventured out and got a copy of Twilight. It is amazing. Twilight is the first book in a four book saga written by Stephanie Meyer. Lots of HP fans turned to Twilight after the series was concluded and it has quickly become a cult classic and a major motion picture. I never could have imagined that I would get into books about wizards and vampires but it is truly the talent of the authors that pulls you in. They have a way of captivating you and making you connect with their characters. Once you start these books you wont be able to put them down. I probably should have waited until after finals to start Twilight...

  1. Oh, I love Twilight! My girlfriends and I are going to see the movie next Saturday for my birthday. Just wait 'til you get to New Moon and Eclipse!

Of course, I've always liked the fantasy type genre. Started reading them when I was young, watched every episode of Buffy/Angel/Charmed, you get the idea.

  4. OK, I have been holding off on reading Twilight because I was all, "seriously? A vampire book?" But slowly I have been thinking I should read them, and now I'm thinking I will with your review.

I'm cringing about your two days with no luggage. Thank goodness you're home!!!
